Pittsburgh Vision

Date: Before September 13th, 1852.

Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Some few days ago, we noticed the fact of a young lady, residing in this city, being in a trance, since the previous Saturday. At first we have inclined to treat the rumor as a hoax, but we have since made inquires about the case, and find it to be true, in every particular. The young lady, whose communication with the world was thus temporarily cut off, resides on Arthur-st., near Center-av., and is about nineteen years of age. She became affected on Saturday night, and from that time till the Wednesday night enusing, she appeared as if dead, except at intervals, when she would utter some incoherent sentences. Her eyes were closed, and her breathing scarcely perceptible. During her ravings she described where she had been: said she was in heaven, and saw her mother there, as well as in the lower regions, were she described a meeting which took place between herself and some of her relations. She also said that she would “come to” on Wednesday night, at which time she awoke, as if she had been sleeping but an hour. This is the second attack of the same kind which the young lady has had wihin a short time.
